Digital cosmopolitanism is a world view when a modern person realizes and feels mostly as a representative of humanity. There are new connections, that appear between people and change all of us.

This topic is relevant nowadays because today we are connected with each other like never before.

Firstly, we already live in a world where we speak the global language and communicate freely with anybody, despite our location. We can be similar in mind, profession, lifestyle with a person living on the other end of the planet more than with a neighbor. This is possible due to the Internet. There are no physical boundaries for Internet communications. It's not far future, it's present.

Secondly, in the modern global world, there are many problems that can’t be solved at the level of one nation, one country, but it can be solved by uniting together. Formally, we are citizens of each country, but following this division, we forget that, first of all,  we are representatives of humanity. Many problems such as ecology, war, hunger, and diseases could be solved only from the attitude of mankind. Actual problems are global in value and importance, they require worldwide solutions.

Additionally, although we need visas to visit other countries and we have the passport to define nationality, we are all children of the universe and can communicate freely by Internet with like-minded persons. And it has been changing us. But not all people understand this yet because many still live with outdated attitude and therefore don’t see the positive side and don’t know how to use benefits and opportunities of the modern world.

The idea of cosmopolitanism arose in Ancient Greece. Socrates spoke about global nationality, Diogenes declared himself a cosmopolitan - a citizen of the universe. Since then more than two thousand years had passed, however, the opportunity of interacting freely with people from other parts of the world came to humanity recently.

The research of digital cosmopolitanism has many aspects to explore: new technologies and people; the development of artificial intelligence; how people change in the modern information world.

It is believed that exploration of this topic can help people to understand themselves better and their place in the world, and to start to live and think from the viewpoint of humanity. I see my mission in disclosing this topic through art.
